LiftSense

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 27 October 2026

The short version: your data stays on your devices. LiftSense is made by Jacob Caesar. This policy explains what information the app uses and where it goes.

What the app stores

All of this is stored on your iPhone and Apple Watch. It is never uploaded to us or any server we run, and we cannot see it.

iCloud backup & sync

If you're signed in to iCloud, LiftSense backs up your workouts, gyms, templates, journal and settings to your own private iCloud storage, so you can restore them on a new device and keep them in sync across your devices. This data is held by Apple under your Apple Account — we have no access to it. You can turn this off in Settings → iCloud.

Health records, body measurements and Apple Health data (such as heart rate) are never stored in iCloud.

Health records

The Health tab lets you store medical results you choose to enter — for example blood tests, blood pressure, scans, appointments and body measurements — along with photos or PDFs of reports. These records:

LiftSense only stores and charts what you enter. It does not interpret results, supply reference ranges or give medical advice. You can choose to share a record yourself using the share button.

Apple Health

If you allow it, LiftSense saves finished workouts (type, time and calories) to Apple Health, and reads your heart rate during workouts on Apple Watch and your latest body weight.

Health data is used only to provide these features. It is never sold, never used for advertising, never shared with third parties, and never uploaded by LiftSense to iCloud or any other server. (Like all app data, it can be included in your own device backup.) You can change these permissions at any time in the Health app.

Optional AI Coach

By default the AI Coach answers using logic built into the app, and nothing leaves your device.

If you choose to add your own Anthropic API key in Settings and agree to the in-app permission prompt, then when you ask the coach a question the app sends the following to Anthropic (the company that makes Claude) to generate the answer:

This is sent directly from your device to Anthropic using your API key. Anthropic's handling of that data is covered by Anthropic's own privacy policy and terms. You can stop this at any time by turning off "Share training data with Claude" or removing your key in Settings → AI Coach.

Notifications, photos and motion

Tracking and advertising

LiftSense has no ads, no analytics and no tracking, and does not share data with data brokers.

Children

LiftSense is not directed at children under 13.

Deleting your data

Settings → Reset all data deletes everything LiftSense has stored. Deleting the app also removes its data. Workouts already saved to Apple Health can be deleted in the Health app.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
